Housebuilders and developers are in the news this morning, and not necessarily in a good way.
The FT reports that Britain’s 10 biggest housebuilders have increased the amount of land with planning permission that they hold by about a fifth during the past decade, as political pressure grows on the sector to build more homes. There are also reports on the number of gifts and hospitality packages received by Robert Davis, Tory councillor and chairman of Westminster’s planning committee. He is said to have received at least 150 gifts from property developers since 2015 including flights down to the south of France for four-day stays on two occasions.
And finally, Sir Philip Green has denied that Arcadia is for sale.
