The Wm Morrison supermarket chain is to double the size of its headquarters in Bradford as the result of its £3bn takeover of Safeway.
It plans to save £80m by closing Safeway’s head office in Hayes, west London, and consolidating all of the functions in a new Bradford head office due to be completed in 2005. Some 1,000 jobs will be created in the new facility.
