Dylan Thomas’s local pub has been put up for sale with an asking price of £1.5m.
Browns Hotel in Laugharne, Wales, the neighbouring Clarence House along with a car park and adjoining site are to be sold by actor Neil Morrissey and his business partner Matt Roberts.
Thomas, one of Britain’s best-known poets, lived in Carmarthenshire with his wife Caitlin from 1938, and it is believed characters in his play Under Milk Wood were inspired from his visits to the establishment.
King Sturge, which is marketing the property, is expecting international interest in the sale.
When it last came to market, two years ago, Morrissey and Roberts beat off rival bids from stars including Pierce Brosnan, the former James Bond star, and Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.
John Kinsey a partner at King Sturge said that the property had come to the market because the partners wish to further other business interests both in the west Wales area and internationally.
