WEEKEND PAPERS: Mortgage rates are rising for those borrowers with the smallest deposits, figures from Moneyfacts show.
The average two-year, fixed-rate mortgage rate for those with a 5% deposit has risen to 4.18% from 3.89% six months ago, possibly reflecting increased caution after the government decided to end the help-to-buy mortgage guarantee scheme.
Rates for those with a 10% deposit have remained relatively flat around 2.7%.
