Morton to take over from Baldwin as Weatheralls MD

Richard Baldwin (pictured right) will stand down as managing director of Weatherall Green & Smith at the end of the year, and will be succeeded by Jonathan Morton (pictured left).

Baldwin, 55, joined Weatheralls 34 years ago and most recently oversaw the companys merger with European holding company Vendome Rome in a deal worth over £20m to the partners.

Weatheralls chairman Greg Cooke said that Baldwin had always intended to retire at 55 to travel and enjoy “life beyond surveying”.

MD-in-waiting Jonathan Morton has been with the firm since 1973 and has been a member of the board for the past six years, combining the roles of director in charge of consulting and oversight director for Scotland.

Commenting on his appointment, Morton said: “Richard has been instrumental in helping to get us to where we are today. I look forward to building on those foundations to maximise the potential which our recent deal with Vendome Rome has unlocked.”
