Mowlem Property Developments have prelet their 87,600-sq ft Interplex 16 distribution scheme at Ash Ridge Road, on the M4/M5 interchange at Bradley Stoke, Avon, at £4.50 per sq ft to Rockwood Distribution Services.
The deal is claimed to be the largest ever prelet of speculative distribution units in the South West.
The developers bought the site 16 months ago from R C Hughes Group and forward funded the 4.65-acre scheme with the Church Commissioners for England.
Bradley Stoke were formed two years ago when a consortium of local and national builders joined Northavon council to develop the 1,000-acre site in the village of the same name.
The lead partners are three local firms: Pearce Developments, C H Beazer with Westbury Homes and Tarmac with Ideal Homes.
Costing £500m, the development is to be privately funded. Chesterton advised the funders, while the letting agents on Interplex 16 were J P Sturge & Sons and Hoddell Pritchard. Weatherall Green & Smith advised Rockwood.
