MPLC submits plans for mixed-use Andover scheme

MPLC has submitted an application for a mixed-use development in Andover, Hampshire.

Theatre Plaza

The Cheshire-based developer, backed by Fenchurch Investments, will redevelop the 40,000 sq ft Ford Cottage site at the corner of West Street and Chantry Street on the fringe of Andover town centre.

DLG Architects has designed the Theatre Plaza scheme which includes a 50-bed hotel, over 120 residential units and a 9,000 sq ft leisure/retail allocation that will include restaurants and cafes.

Located in close proximity to the town’s renovated theatre ‘The Lights’, the scheme will provide links towards the Chantry Centre through a new central public courtyard.

Arthur Freeman, MD of MPLC, said: “DLG Architects has spent many months working on an innovative, high quality design that will provide a very impressive focus for the new Cultural Quarter.

“This is a regionally significant site that has stood derelict for over 15 years. It is hoped that our proposals will help to kick start further regeneration projects in the town centre.”

Fenchurch Investments is advised by M3 Agents London Clancy and local firm Upton McGougan are providing Consulting Engineer support.
