MPs slam Plymouth Development Corporation for using funds for private expenditure

The Commons public accounts committee criticised the £40m Plymouth Development Corporation for its “poor stewardship of public funds”. Its chief executive John Collinson was suspended in June 1995 after he charged private expenditure for himself and staff members to the corporation.

The Plymouth Development Corporation was set up in 1993 to oversee the regeneration of the city’s waterfront.
