M&S to cut HQ jobs

Marks & Spencer is planning to cut around 500 jobs at its Paddington, west London, headquarters.

Many of the jobs affected are among contractors. Store staff are not thought to be affected.

Chief executive Steve Rowe is due to present details of a comprehensive review of the retailer in November. Analysts are expecting the review to include store closures.
