Abu Dhabi sovereign fund Mubadala Development Company is in talks to acquire the 50% stake in Viceroy Hotel Group owned by Jho Low and affiliates.
The fund hopes the talks with the US Department of Justice will lead to a deal being finalised within days, according to one person with knowledge of the matter.
The fund owns the other 50% of the hotel chain. Low has been linked by US prosecutors to Malaysia’s 1MDB.
