Muir to join Morgan’s investment banking team

James Muir JP Morgan’s head of real estate equity research is joining his former boss Andrew Penny on the bank’s real estate investment banking team.

Former head of real estate equity research Penny, became JP Morgan’s head of European real estate investment banking in March.

Muir said: “I am leaving equity research to take up a position in our real estate investment banking team. This is an extremely exciting time for real estate.”

The investment bank has hired ABN AMRO analyst Harm Meijer, who covered continental property stocks, to replace Muir as head of real estate equity research.

He will work with fellow analyst Tim Leckie.

Muir starts his new role on 8August.
