Muji chops five shops from its UK roster

  Ryohin Keikaku Europe, which trades as high street retail brand Muji, is to close five shops in the UK.   The shops are located in Birmingham New Street, Bentall Centre in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, Leeds Briggate, Nottingham Bridalsmith Gate and Whiteleys Shopping Centre, W2.   The stores comprise 24,900 sq ft of retail space, with a rent roll of £1.5m.   Jason Sibthorpe, director at GVA Grimley, which is advising Ryohin Keikaku Europe on the disposals, said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this brief by Ryohin Keikaku Europe.   “We have already engaged with a number of retailers seeking to expand while market conditions are advantageous.”   annabel.dixon@rbi.co.uk
