Cheshire-based Muller Property Group has submitted plans for a £40m retail, leisure and employment scheme in Sandbach.
The Old Mill Quarter will be anchored by a 40,000 sq ft supermarket and will also contain 100,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, 25,000 sq ft of smaller “start-up” units, a garden centre, budget hotel and pub/restaurant. The site is a mile from J17 of the M6.
Colin Muller, chief executive of Muller Property Group, said: “I believe this scheme is desperately needed to stem the loss of trade from Sandbach, generate new business for existing retailers and create new jobs for the town. It will ensure the long-term survival of Sandbach as a vibrant and attractive market town.”
