Muse Developments has linked up with Wirral Council as part of a joint venture to regenerate the Wirral region.
The jv partners signed a 10-year deal to form Wirral Growth Company, with the possibility of extending the partnership for an additional five years.
Its first scheme is the regeneration of Birkenhead town centre, which will see grade-A office space, retail and leisure space and public realm improvements undertaken.
A public consultation on initial plans is expected to begin in May.
Mike Horner, development director at Muse Developments, said: “This is the first step of a long journey to bring high-quality development and sustainable, transformational regeneration to the peninsula.”
