Muse has lodged plans for a Waitrose- and John Lewis-anchored first phase of the £200m Basing View scheme in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
The retailers have signed a 150-year lease for a combined 78,000 sq ft store, adding a retail element to the 15-acre, 650,000 sq ft regeneration project, which will also include offices and a hotel.
Muse is development partner for the landowner, Basingstoke and Deane council. It is hoped that planning will be granted in early 2014, with construction starting in the spring.
