Ambitious plans for South Shields in Tyne & Wear have taken a major step forward with the finalising of a development agreement between South Tyneside council and Muse Developments.
The £100m South Shields 365 project proposes a radical redevelopment of the town centre with a new shopping quarter, cinema, library and leisure facilities as well as a quality hotel and housing.
Muse was appointed preferred partner in July 2013.
