Muse named as development partner on £3.2bn Arden Cross regen

Arden Cross has teamed up with Muse Developments to deliver a 346-acre regeneration project in the heart of the West Midlands.

The partners will work together to deliver a £3.2bn mixed-use scheme featuring 3,000 new homes and up to 6m sq ft of employment space. The first phase of development could come forward as early as 2025.

The move comes after Arden Cross recently signed an agreement with University Hospitals Birmingham and with the University of Warwick to explore opportunities for bringing forward a new medical and technology campus to deliver innovation in the healthcare and technology sectors.

Arden Cross was created by landowners Birmingham City Council, Packington Estate and Coleshill Estate to drive forward the potential of the site to the east of Birmingham where the new HS2 Interchange station is already under construction.

Wider partners in the development include HS2, the Department for Transport, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and the Urban Growth Company.

Ben Gray, project director at Arden Cross, said: “We are committed to working together to capitalise on the masterplan principles and deliver transformational change for the region while creating a world-leading economic hub for the UK in a unique public-private partnership that leverages the superb connectivity of Arden Cross.”

Maggie Grogan, development director at Muse, added: “As a business, we are committed to delivering sustainable regeneration at pace, while at the same time bringing real, tangible benefits to communities, and we can’t wait to get started.”

JLL led the marketing process to attract the new development partner.
