Planning officers in Blackpool have recommended approval of the first phase of Muse Developments’ £220m Central Business District scheme, formerly known as Talbot Gateway.
The first phase will comprise a 125,000 sq ft office building which will be occupied by the council, plus the refurbishment of a multi-storey car park to include 20,000 sq ft of shops.
Central Business District will eventually comprise 915,000 sq ft of offices, hotels, shops, cafes and restaurants. Earlier this month, Sainsbury’s agreed to occupy a 60,000 sq ft supermarket at the development.
Blackpool’s planning committee is due to hear the application for the first phase on Monday 28 November.
