The Museum of Childhood in London has been renamed the Young V&A as it embarks on a £13m redevelopment project.
The new name will help cement its goal to be a place for children, not just for nostalgic adults.
The Young V&A has so far raised, entirely from private sources, almost 70% of the £13m required to transform its Grade II listed building in east London.
The redesign will see the creation of new galleries – Play, Imagine and Design – along with new interactive displays, a suite of workshops and a design studio. It is due to be closed until 2023.
