Musical chairs for key teams

DTZ and JLW have both announced changes in their specialist finance teams this week.

DTZ Financial Services has lost its managing director Stephen Eighteen and associate director Henry Ashwin to NatWest, one of the quoted agent’s major clients.

Charles Maudsley, a third DTZ team member, has also left to join Axa Sun Life.

In a separate move, JLW Finance has recruited Robert Ringrose from investment bank UBS as a director of its 13-strong team. It is also looking for two more staff to expand its business in the UK and Europe.

A DTZ spokeswoman confirmed that Eighteen and Ashwin, both former bankers, have joined NatWest Structured Finance, where Eighteen will head a newly-formed property finance group.

Derek Butler, former head of DTZ’s international business, has replaced Eighteen as managing director, working with Jeremy Robson. “A further member may be recruited in due course,” the spokeswoman said.

At JLW Finance, managing director Rupert Clarke said that the agent wants to expand the range of advice it offers clients. “The time is right to move on from the 1980s concept of a financial services arm, and we are building a specialist investment banking group,” he said.

Ringrose, who has 16 years’ experience at UBS, will initially concentrate on developing indirect investment vehicles.

In March, JLW launched a £90m fund to build shopping centres in Eastern Europe with investment bank Lehman Brothers.
