Nailsea trust bags WH Smith

The Nailsea Unit Trust, a joint venture between Development Securities and Ellandi, has exchanged contracts with WH Smith to bring the retailer to Somerset Square in Nailsea, Somerset.

Works will begin in the New Year to subdivide the former Cargo store and provide a new 3,650 sq ft shop for WH Smith. A further 850 sq ft is available to let.

HSBC has also recently relocated to larger premises on Colliers Walk and WD Wetherspoons has signed up to occupy the former Glass House pub.

Matthew Weiner of Development Securities said: “These latest deals bring the total of new lettings or lease renewals we have concluded over the past two years to more than 17, underlining how well Nailsea is performing in an incredibly tough environment.”

Mark Robinson of Ellandi added: “This is just the start of larger plans we have for The Crown Glass Centre situated at the heart of Nailsea. This vibrant shopping centre is set to be greatly enhanced as a result of our continued investment over the next couple of years.”

Thompson Commercial and Rowley Hughes Thompson advise the Nailsea Unit Trust.
