Nama in €1bn bond redemption

Nama-THUMB.jpegNama has redeemed another €1bn (£704m) of bonds, taking its total redemptions to €17.6bn so far.

The bonds, held originally from AIB, Bank of Ireland and the IBRC, were issued in 2010 and 2011 to purchase the loan portfolios that it is now selling.

The intention is to dispose of 80% of the senior debt held by Nama by the end of 2016.

This would take the total redemptions to €24bn.

Nama has recently launched another NPL portfolio sale to follow up its mega €8.5bn Project Arrow portfolio launched earlier this year.

The new portfolio, codenamed Project Albion, consists of 22 mainly UK commercial real estate loans and has a face value of £226m.

Cushman & Wakefield is advising Nama on both projects.
