Nama repays £1.6bn of bonds

Nama has repaid a further €2bn (£1.6bn) of Nama Bonds today.

This is Nama’s fourth repayment of senior securities to date, and takes the total of bonds redeemed to €3.25bn.

Nama chairman Frank Daly said that more debt repayments are likely before the end of the year thanks to the agency’s strong cash position.

Nama has reduced its indebtedness by around €3.5bn over the past two years, and is on track to meet its target of redeeming €7.5bn of senior bonds by the end of 2013, according to a statement from the agency today.
