NB duo scoop £30m sale

Trehaven Group, the investment firm run by Phillip Nelson and Simon Bakewell, is in advanced negotiations to sell its Bedfont trading estate near Heathrow to American REIT AMB Property.

AMB, in a jv with Graftongate, is understood to have bid £30m for the 17-acre site, beating off competition from ProLogis and Salmon Harvester.

The pair obtained planning consent for 300,000 sq ft of warehouse and distribution space.

AMB made its UK debut in October, buying Graftongate’s 320,000 sq ft Binary Park, renamed AMB East London Distribution Park, in Dagenham, for around £35m.

Nelson and Bakewell, who have been forced to put their Westport Land subsidiary into administration (26 January, p39), put the site up for sale before Christmas.

Grant Thornton, which is handling the administration, has appointed Franc Warwick to dispose of its £100m of assets.

Jones Lang LaSalle is advising Trehaven at Bedfont.
