Neopost heads to Here East

Global business communications specialists Neopost UK is relocating from Romford, Essex, to London tech hub Here East in the Olympic Park, E20.

Neopost will move 280 staff into a 25,000 sq ft office on the third floor of the press centre at Here East.

It is the first time Neopost has relocated its UK HQ for 40 years, having spent the last 90 years based in Romford.

The deal means the Here East campus is now 77% let, with 158,161 sq ft of space remaining.

Neopost, headquartered and listed in Paris, produces and sells digital communication, e-commerce, logistics and postal solutions.

As one of the pioneers of mailing equipment, the move represents a major milestone in its diversification into software services.

Here East, developed by iCITY, a company owned by clients of Delancey, is a dedicated 1.2 m sq ft campus for businesses, educators, entrepreneurs and artists.

Mike Stone, managing director of Neopost UK, said: “These are exciting times for Neopost as we transform our business to meet the changing needs of customers.

“The move to Here East and its innovative and exciting community mirrors our own vision and values.

“Our people have always said Neopost is a great company to work for and I am sure Here East will be a great place to work.”

Gavin Poole, chief executive officer, Here East, added: “Neopost is exactly the sort of business for which Here East was created.

“One of the major players of business communications, it is now looking to technology and software to transform its own model and remain at the cutting edge of its sector.

“Here East can help accelerate that growth through opportunities to collaborate in a community of world-class digital talent, business leaders and creatives using technology in a diverse range of disciplines.”

Paul Goswell, managing director of Delancey, said: “The high demand for space at Here East demonstrates the appetite for businesses of all sizes and industries to join a campus environment that promotes collaboration and innovation.

“Neopost… will be in good company alongside the likes of Hobs Studio, Ford, Sports Interactive, as well as the many start-ups at Plexal. The success of Here East is a vote of confidence for the future of London as the home of innovation.”

Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank are lead commercial letting agents for Here East.
