Neptune submits revised New Brighton plans

Liverpool-based Neptune Developments has submitted revised plans for the £42m second phase of development at its scheme in New Brighton on the Wirral.

The plans have been changed following a public inquiry last summer and now include a hotel and year-round outdoor spa.

A proposed Morrisons supermarket has been reduced from 85,000 to 64,000 sq ft and the scheme will no longer contain a residential element.

A cinema, bar and restaurant units and a health club are also proposed.

Rob Mason, Neptune’s development director, said: “It has been a long process to get to this stage and we are delighted to be moving ahead with New Brighton.

“With the first phase about to begin and this planning submission, we hope we can finally bring about a new dawn for New Brighton.”

Revised plans for phase 1 of the scheme, which includes the redevelopment of the Flora Hall theatre, have already been approved.
