Network Rail hires agent for Glasgow office scheme

Network Rail has hired Savills to advise on a 350,000 sq ft office-led scheme in Glasgow.

The development will be above the city’s Queen Street station and on land to the east of the railway lines.

Network Rail is seeking a development partner to build out the scheme.

Glasgow Queen Street station is currently being redeveloped as part of the Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme – a Scottish government investment to accommodate new longer, faster and greener electric trains on the network.

The news follows a rise in occupier interest in the city, with Barclays opening a campus at Buchanan Wharf and Clydesdale Bank signing for a new headquarters at HFD’s Bothwell Exchange.
