Network Rail secures Urban Pubs & Bars’ first station venue

Urban Pubs & Bars has signed for its first transport hub venue at Network Rail’s Waterloo station, SE1, taking its portfolio to 41 locations in London.

The Victory will occupy 5,080 sq ft on the balcony at the station. Other tenants on the balcony, which is the longest at any British railway station, include Marugame, Oliver Bonas and Benugo.

The venue is expected to launch in mid-September, following recent openings including Postmark, Wasabi and Costa. Last week, Monsoon opened its new boutique store format at the station.

Hamish Kiernan, commercial director, property, at Network Rail, said: “To secure Urban Pubs & Bars’ first venue in a transport hub is testament to the continued commercial strength of our stations. The Victory will deliver a new and vibrant offer for customers as we elevate our retail and restaurant mix. This additional investment demonstrates the ongoing appetite from successful brands for Waterloo station.”

Chris Hill, managing director at Urban Pubs & Bars, said: “As well as being our first venture into transport hubs, the Victory at London Waterloo is ideally located to capture customers looking to enjoy London’s South Bank as well as popular landmarks including the BFI Imax and the London Eye.”
