Network Rail targets Square One in Manchester

Network Rail is homing in on Bruntwood’s 130,000 sq ft Square One for its longstanding 60,000 sq ft central Manchester requirement.

The occupier favours the Travis Street building’s large 33,000 sq ft floorplates and proximity to Piccadilly station.

A spokesman for Bruntwood said it was in discussions with a number of occupiers. The quoting rent is £14 per sq ft.

Network Rail is also considering Bruntwood’s 61,000 sq ft 1 Portland Street.

King Sturge is advising Network Rail; DTZ and Lambert Smith Hampton are acting for Bruntwood.

Other occupiers firming up requirements in the city include Barclaycard and insurer AIG.

Solicitor Pinsent Masons has had pitches from several landlords looking to land its 28,000 sq ft requirement this week, while the Standards Board for England has also launched a 20,000 sq ft Manchester requirement.
