New Ascot grandstand set to re-open in time for royal meeting

The new grandstand at the Crown Estate-owned Ascot racecourse is set to re-open to race-goers in time for the royal meeting at the end of June.

The £200m state-of-the-art building and track has been repositioned and rebuilt using modern turf technology.

The stand development acted as a catalyst for improving other parts of the course with a lot of work done on listed buildings.

The Financial Times reports how the redevelopment of the famous racecourse has gone surprisingly smoothly.
