Thirteen new “banking hubs” are to open in the UK in communities that have suffered branch and ATM closures.
The hubs allow customers of almost any bank to withdraw and deposit cash, make bill payments and carry out transactions.
The 13 new hubs take the total number planned to 25, of which just two – in Rochford in Essex and Cambuslang, Glasgow – are yet open.
The Cash Action Group, the organisation behind the scheme, includes senior representatives from Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds and NatWest.
