New Covent Garden plans approved

Plans to redevelop New Covent Garden, Britain’s biggest fresh produce market, have been given approval by Wandsworth Council.

St Modwen and Vinci Construction will improve the 37 acre market and build three residential towers to the east of the site, comprising 3,019 homes, 600 of which will be affordable.

The towers will form part of the Vauxhall ’tall building cluster’, known as the ‘Vanhattan’ of London,
