Appear Here, an online marketplace for pop-up retail space, has raised $7.5m (£4.7m) of new funding for international expansion.
Venture capitalist Balderton Capital led the funding round, while existing investors MMC, Forward and property fund manager Meyer Bergman also took part.
Founded in 2012 by 22-year-old Ross Bailey, Appear Here has facilitated more than 500 short-term lets in the UK, including the Tanqueray Gin Palace pop-up (pictured). It has exclusive deals to market space with eight of the UK’s 10 biggest retail landlords – including British Land, Land Securities and Hammerson – and with Transport for London to market space in Underground stations.
