Nineteen PFI schemes that have a value of £260m will be packaged up and sold to a new vehicle called the John Laing Infrastructure Fund.
The projects are the ones that were caught up in a row over Henderson Group’s 2006 acquisition of John Laing for £1bn. The new fund aims to raise up to £270m in an initial public offering to buy the assets, which include the Ministry of Defence’s redeveloped headquarters on Whitehall and the Metropolitan Police’s riot squad and firearms training centre at Gravesend, Kent.
