New life sciences platform hires Tristan’s Terry

Life sciences and living newcomer Westwind Capital has hired Tristan Capital Partners’ Mark Terry as chief financial officer and chief operating officer.

Terry will work alongside founding partner and chief executive Daniel Gorzawski, as the private equity real estate investment platform pursues its pan-European strategy.

Terry has spent the past 11 years at Tristan Capital, where was heavily involved in all of its fund launches, alongside portfolio management and financings covering a pan-European portfolio of more than 150 investments valued at €11bn (£9.3bn).

Prior to joining Tristan, Terry held positions within the Macquarie Bank’s real estate group and at the private equity real estate firm MGPA. He qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC.

Gorzawski, who founded Westwind last month after leaving Harrison Street, said: “It was extremely important to me that the first person to join Westwind Capital set a marker for the type of high-quality individuals with deep expertise that will form the bedrock of the team I aim to assemble.”

Terry said: “I share Daniel’s belief that there is clear demand for a new, nimble and expert investment platform focused on life sciences and innovation real estate and the living sectors. Westwind Capital is arriving on to the European private equity real estate investment landscape at an exciting time, which presents both challenges and great opportunities.”
