HBD, the development arm of Henry Boot, has been given the go ahead to develop a further 75,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics space at Southend Airport Business Park in Essex.
The consent follows the practical completion of a £15m, 140,000 sq ft unit for aircraft seating manufacturer Ipeco Holdings in June.
The new 75,000 sq ft development will comprise two buildings and will be marketed to potential occupiers on a design-and-build basis. Work on the units is expected to begin early next year.
Henry Boot chief executive Tim Roberts said that getting consent for the extra logistics on the 52-acre site would allow it to “continue to meet high occupier demand and ease the critical undersupply of industrial space that exists in the Southend area”.
Southend Airport Business Park is a £150m joint venture between Henry Boot and Southend-on-Sea Council.
