New Look is back in the black but its store closure programme is continuing as the retailer fights to turn around its business.
It is closing 85 stores, up from a planned 60, and said that it was in negotiations with landlords on a additional 13. It made an underlying profit of £22.2m in the first half, compared with a loss of £10.4m last year.
This was on revenue that fell by 4.2% to £656.9m.
