New Look reports lower sales, profit

Sales at New Look fell 4.4% on the year to £338.7m in the three months ended 24 June, while like-for-like sales dropped 7.5%.

Underlying operating profit slumped 60% to £12.1m.

The UK market remained difficult, chief executive Anders Kristiansen said, adding the fashion retailer is committed to diversifying the business and reducing dependence on the UK high street. Challenging market conditions are set to continue next year.
