New plans in for Mitre House

Mitre-House-EC1-THUMB.jpegMercer Real Estate has submitted revised plans for the proposed new City headquarters of law firm DLA Piper.

The revised scheme comes two months after the City Corporation rejected the 200,000 sq ft refurbishment of Mitre House at 160 Aldersgate Street, EC1, amid concerns from nearby residents.

The new scheme does not reduce the amount of office space in the building but removes a ground-floor shop and planned new windows on the eighth floor which would have overlooked London House.

DLA Piper went under offer to lease the entire Fletcher Priest-designed scheme last summer and it remains committed to the redevelopment.

GM Real Estate and Savills are advising Mercer; JLL acted for DLA Piper.
