Paul Stevens, founder of Investec’s European property finance business, has launched real estate finance platform ASK Partners with a team of senior property financiers.
ASK Partners, which is predominantly funded by an ultra-high-net-worth family office, will “consider all opportunities”, providing a range of funding strategies, including bridging finance, senior loans, mezzanine debt and joint venture equity agreements.
The team includes Daniel Austin, former chief executive of Capital A Finance, who will take on the role of chief executive at ASK Partners. Doug King will take on the role of chief operating officer, having previously been on Capital A’s senior management team.
ASK Partners will provide funding of between £1m and £25m, although it said it could consider larger ticket sizes in some cases.
Austin said: “In a market saturated with lenders, our focus is on applying our real estate knowledge to each individual situation, using our flexible capital to create bespoke financial solutions from across the capital structure and for a broad range of ticket sizes.
“The personal approach of our experienced team and our focus on partnership set us apart and, with a selection of deals under our belt, we are actively looking for more opportunities.”
To date, the lender has agreed a senior loan secured against six flats in a completed development in Mill Hill, a planning loan against three sites in Watford and an acquisition and development loan for a scheme of more than 100 homes in Slough.
