A chateau on the outskirts of Paris has been sold to a Middle Eastern buyer for a record price in excess of €275m, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
Chateau Louis XIV is located in a park between Versailles and Marly-le-Roi, and comes complete with an aquarium and wine cellar.
The previous record price for a residential property was around $221m for a London penthouse.
