New role created at the Crown Estate

The-Crown-Estate-logo-THUMB.gifJames Cooksey has been appointed to a newly created role as deputy head of urban and head of central London at the Crown Estate.

He will take up the position on 1 July.

In his new role, Cooksey will be working with joint venture partners to carry out the Crown Estate’s West End investment strategy.

Since joining the Crown Estate in March 2009 as head of St James’s and the regional portfolio, Cooksey has secured joint venture partnerships with Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan, Oxford Properties and most recently Gingko Tree.

Paul Clark, director of investment and asset management, said: “As the Crown Estate’s urban portfolio continues to grow in value, scale and complexity I am establishing a new role on my management team to provide integrated, strategic leadership for our £5bn portfolio in central London. I’m pleased to announce that James Cooksey has been promoted to this role.”

The organisation is also currently hiring a new head of regional to be appointed to the urban management team.
