New store plans at House of Fraser

House of Fraser is planning to open new department stores to add to its 52 outlets.

They will be in the City of London, Maidstone, Kent, High Wycombe, Berkshire and Croydon, Surrey.

It is in advanced negotiation on several other sites to boost its plans to open two to three outlets each year from 2003. Most new stores are likely to be in the south of England and the Midlands. It believes it could open another 20-30 department stores. The company is still interested in a merger or takeover.
