New tenants for Hatfield Galleria

Land Securities’ Galleria shopping centre in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, has secured a raft of new tenants.

Bed linens retailer Bedeck and pottery retailer Denby have both taken 1,700 sq ft shops, while Laura Ashley has secured a 3,500 sq ft store.

Gant UK also took over its previously franchised Gant store in June, fashion brand Jaeger is set to open a new 2,100 sq ft shop in October, and the UK ’s first I-Centre, at 800 sq ft, will open later this year.

Tim Stirling, centre director at the Galleria, said: “This is a very exciting time for us; we’re seeing huge interest from some fantastic brands and the recent openings of Gap and French Connection will undoubtedly enhance our existing offering and encourage further interest from similar retailers.”

Deepan Khiroya, retail portfolio director at Land Securities, added: “Since we bought the galleria in 2007 we have been going through a period of asset management and have succeeded in developing a strong retail line up that serves the centre’s core catchment.

“A lot of time and energy has been put in to discovering exactly what customers want and as a result we are starting to reap the benefits.”

Twentyretail and Head Retail advises Land Securities; Michael Peddar & Co advised Denby.
