A number of leading UK property figures have been recognised in the New Year’s honours list.
Property tycoon David Murray, Stanhope director Peter Rogers, Argent chief executive Roger Madelin and Investment Property Databank co-founder Rupert Nabarro all feature on the list.
Murray, who is founder-owner of Murray International Holdings and owner of the Rangers FC, has been knighted for services to business in Scotland.
His property and development company Premier Property Group has offices in Leeds, London and Edinburgh.
Rogers, who is involved with the property and construction industry at government and trade level, was made a CBE.
He was involved with the construction of the £700m Broadgate development and is currently working on the regeneration of Stratford in east London and Bracknell town centre.
Madelin received a CBE for his services to sustainable development.
Nabarro, who co-founded the Investment Property Databank (IPD) with Ian Cullen in 1985, has been made an OBE.
Professor David Lock, chairman of the Town and Country Planning Association and founder of consultant David Lock Associates, was given a CBE for his contribution to urban design
There were two recipients of OBEs for services to regeneration: Kyle Alexander, chief executive of Laganside Corporation in Belfast, and James Gill, chief executive of regeneration agency Liverpool Vision.
Sue Foster, assistant director, regeneration and planning at Hackney council, received an OBE for her services to planning.
