Yorkshire-based developer Newett Homes has appointed Scott Varley as chief operating officer to lead the firm’s growth strategy.
Varley has spent 17 years at Avant Homes, a housebuilder which operates in Scotland, the North East, Yorkshire and the Midlands, and has a proven track record of driving growth and operational excellence. Most recently, he held the role of regional chairman, having served as managing director of various divisions over the past 10 years.
In his new role, Varley will be tasked with driving Newett’s growth plans, with a focus on delivering high-quality, design-led homes. The firm is looking to expand its footprint across Yorkshire with the strategic aim of becoming the developer of choice by leveraging local insights and building strong community relationships. Newett Homes currently has seven live developments, with plans to expand to 12 by June 2025.
Will Newett, chief executive of Newett Homes, said: “Despite a challenging year, we have doubled our number of completions in the past 12 months. We plan to double our output again this year, supported by strategic planning and market analysis.”
Varley said: “I look forward to working with the talented team at Newett Homes to achieve our ambitious plans and continue to build communities for our customers.”
