Newmark hires leisure expert from Avison Young

Newmark has appointed Richard Baldwin as a partner in its UK leisure team, further strengthening the firm’s specialist capabilities.

Baldwin joins from Avison Young, where he was a director in the leisure team, advising a broad client base on strategy across a varied portfolio of assets. He previously held a senior role at GVA, where he worked on the valuation and agency of many of the UK’s landmark leisure destinations.

With more than 25 years’ experience, Baldwin brings extensive expertise in valuation, consultancy, lease advisory and bespoke agency services across both mainstream and specialist leisure sectors.

Based in Leeds and active nationwide, Baldwin is regarded as one of the UK’s foremost leisure experts, having advised on some of the country’s most distinctive trading assets, from visitor attractions and conference centres to piers, holiday properties, marinas and amusement arcades.

Dan Anning, co-head of the UK leisure team, said: “Richard’s appointment marks a significant step in the growth of our leisure offering. His reputation, sector knowledge and track record in handling complex leisure assets make him a significant addition to the team. We’re excited to have him on board as we continue to expand our reach and deliver exceptional value to our clients.”

Baldwin said: “Joining Newmark at such a pivotal moment is hugely exciting. Working alongside such a dynamic team and a stellar client base presents a fantastic platform for growth. I’m looking forward to helping clients navigate the unique challenges and opportunities within this highly specialist sector.”
