John-Healey-THUMBHome ownership under review

Shadow housing and planning minister John Healey announced an independent review into home ownership at the Labour Party conference. The review will be led by Peter Redfern, chief executive of Taylor Wimpey, who will be advised by experts including Dame Kate Barker, senior adviser to Credit Suisse, and Terrie Alafat, chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Hastings signs at St George

Hastings Direct has signed for 60,000 sq ft at Infrastructure Investment’s St George’s Central, close to Leicester railway station. It has agreed a 10-year lease and will take occupation in February. Lambert Smith Hampton and Innes England are joint letting agents.

L&G to sell Bloomberg site

Legal & General Property has instructed Capital Real Estate Partners to sell the £100m freehold interest in Bloomberg’s new City headquarters, EC4. Two buildings of 507,526 sq ft and 255,543 sq ft will occupy the three-acre site. Bloomberg, which owns the long leasehold interest, will move into the scheme in 2017.

Everyman screens King’s Cross

Independent cinema group Everyman is to open at King’s Cross Central, N1. It has agreed a deal to lease 9,000 sq ft from the King’s Cross Partnership for a three-screen cinema in the office building known as R7 on Handyside Street. The cinema is scheduled to open in Q3 2017.

Warehouse floors let

Helical Bar and Crosstree have let three floors at The Warehouse, EC1. CBS Interactive has signed for 17,416 sq ft at a rent of £60 per sq ft and Allegis Group has signed for 18,035 sq ft at £55 per sq ft. JLL and Hatton Real Estate are letting agents at The Warehouse.
