GVA hires City chief

GVA has hired Chris Gore from JLL to head its City investment team. Gore, known as a German funds specialist, joins as a senior adviser after seven years at JLL and King Sturge.

Cargiant revs up new team

London & Regional has replaced Lipton Rogers and First Base as development partner on Cargiant’s Old Oak Common regeneration project in west London. It will devise a major regeneration plan on 45 acres of the company’s land.

Mega Dublin scheme planned

The receivers of a major Dublin Docklands site have submitted a planning application for a 395,000 sq ft office and residential development. The €150m (£119m) project will be one of the largest schemes to be undertaken in Ireland since the 2008 crash. Savills is acting as receiver to the Boland’s Mill site at Grand Canal Dock on behalf of Nama.

Ex-MEPC man to captain MCC

A former non-executive director of MEPC, Gerald Corbett, has been named as the next chairman of the Marylebone Cricket Club. Corbett will succeed Oliver Stocken on 1 October 2015 and will help steer the club’s plans for a £200m redevelopment of Lord’s cricket ground, NW8.

Max gets on board

BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed James Max as UK board adviser. The new role will see the former Apprentice star involved with the company’s UK plans, driving the corporate and professional services.

Hat-trick of awards for EG

Estates Gazette picked up three gongs at the International Building Press Awards in London. Senior news reporter Joanna Bourke was named Commercial Property Writer of the year.  News editor Jack Sidders won Business and Finance Journalist of the Year and Multi-Media Journalist
of the Year.
