The NHS has signed up for 72,500 sq ft of space across two buildings as part of a relocation from its Selly Oak hospital site in Birmingham.
Advised by GVA, the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation will relocate 300 staff to 22,500 sq ft in Yardley Court on Frederick Road and 50,000 sq ft in the adjacent Regent Court on George Road.
Terms were undisclosed; however, Calthorpe Estates owns the freehold of both buildings, which have been taken on long leases of well over 100 years remaining. The buildings are located in Edgbaston, close to Five Ways train station.
Cliff Ewan, commercial director at UHB, said: “We needed to remain close to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Therefore these buildings are absolutely ideal for us.”
The relocation is due to be completed by the end of Q1 2015.
